Chia, a medicinal plant, was initially cultivated by Laxman Jadhav, a farmer from Jadhavwadi in Pune district. Jadhav had produced 500 kg of chia for the first time after studying this crop by spraying medicine, using fertilizers from time to time. He had made a profit of two lakh rupees from this.

While doing this crop, they are guiding other farmers to do this crop too. Apart from Kashinath Jadhav, Tanaji Jadhav, Ramdas Jadhav, five to six farmers have grown this crop in Bori Budruk, Jadhavwadi villages.

Chia seed is an American medicinal plant and was first grown by Laxman Jadhav of Jadhavwadi in Pune district. They benefited a lot from this. This year, seven to eight farmers in Bori, Jadhavwadi villages have grown and there is a good demand for this plant. Medium horticultural black land is required for cultivation of this crop, sowing is done like onion seed. Also the distance between two rows should be four feet. Water works whether it is dripped or released through lines.

After getting the information about this crop in the agricultural exhibition, information was taken about where it was raised, harvested and sold from the seed purchase. This crop costs only 15 thousand rupees per acre. As it is a medicinal plant, the industries buy it from the farm itself. This seed is getting high market price like 500 to 600 rupees per kg. In Madhya Pradesh, if we go to the market and sell it ourselves, the market price is Rs 1000 per kg
